About the foundation

Building our nation is about giving to the community and being responsible for making a sustainable difference.

The foundation pillars

We take our mandate from three foundational pillars – each representing a core focus of our social and development efforts.

Skills Development and Training

The Attacq Foundation Trust funds numerous initiatives and programmes that aim to provide people with the ability to improve their academic or experiental learning. We believe that a contribution to education and training assists in building a skilled Nation to compete more effectively in the workplace locally and abroad.

We provide funding to reputable bursary programmes and to date have provided 67 learners with financial assistance to obtain tertiary qualifications. We focus on qualifications that are particular to the Real Estate (including Construction) industry.

Attacq Foundation and Attacq have provided 12-month learnership opportunties to 29 learners over the past 3 years. This programme enables previously unemployed persons with the opportunity to obtain accredited qualifications and valuable experiential training which redies them for the formal workplace. Persons with disabilities have long been overlooked in the workplace and our learnership programmes favour such persons.

Enterprise and Supplier Development

Attacq understands that SMME’s play a critical role within the South African economy and are often credited as the true employment creators. We also understand that SMME’s face numerous barriers to entry into supply chains which is largely dominated by well established and large enterprises.

We believe that an investment into SMME’s is an investment into our supply chain. which provides opportunities for SMME’s to learn and apply their skills in areas that they would often struggle to enter.

In order to empower and uplift SMME’s and Communities, we provide opportunities for SMME’s to learn and apply their skills effectively.

Our Partnership with Property Point stretces back to 2015 when we launced our first intake of SMME’s into a bespoke enterpreneural development programme. To date we have enrolled 35 entities on various enterprise and supplier development programmes.

Socio-Economic Development

The Attacq Foundation’s community development initiatives are focused on sustainable education and training.

We invest in education through initiatives such as early childhood development and provide financial support to qualifying Attacq staff which enables their children to participate in meaningful educational initiatives.

School fees Subsidies for qualifying Attacq staff: Attacq Foundation believes that charity begins at home hence the financial support to the children of lower income earning staff to enable them to pursue a quality education covering costs such as tuition, books, transport, and extra mural activities.

Early Childhood development is the most important learning phase. Studies have linked success to the quality of education at the early phases of childhood development. The Bana ba Rona ECD Centre was established in 2016 to provide a dedicated ECD Centre to the Community of Villa Liza, Boksburg. This neigherhood has a high number of unemployed people who have no means to secure quality early childhood education. Sinces its inception in 2016, the centre has made a valuable cotribution to the youth of Villa Liza. The Centre was recently relocated to a new property which will enable furhter growth opportunities and continue with their mandate of providing quality early childhood education.

Phuthumani Primary School Adoption

The Attacq Foundation appreciates that a good relationship with the Communities in which it operates creates opportunities for shared solutions to long-standing issues. Our communities faces various challenges and key to our commitment is to make a measurable impact on the quality of education and training of those most in need. We view this as a shared approach to problem solving.
Through our past engagement with the Phuthumani Primary School we realised that our assistance would be most impactful in a sustained and longterm manner. To this extent the Attacq Foundation and the Phuthumani Primary School have concluded an agreement where the Attacq Foundation adopts the school for a period of three years starting July 2021. The Attacq Foundation and Phuthumani Primary School have reviewed the needs of the school and learners and have identified various key items that require attention and assistance from the Attacq Foundation and by extension its partners. To this end, the Attacq Foundation will focus on the rehabilitation of existing classroom’s as well as a project for the building of a new building that will consist of three classrooms. It is envisaged that this new building will replace current temporary classrooms that is currently being used to accommodate excess learners. The Attacq Foundation will launch a fundraising campaign from August 2021 to raise funds for this new building.
